Not all computer programs are friendly. Some people spend lots of time writing programs which can harm your computer, often with disastrous consequences. Malicious software (also known as malware) and viruses spread from computer to computer just like human viruses spread from person to person. At best they will cause your computer to slow down or become unresponsive and at worst they can capture your passwords and credit card details or even delete some of the files on your computer. The worst thing is that once you have one virus they tend to broadcast themselves to other viruses and malwares so they can come and have a big party in your computer.

At B3 IT Home Services we can use a variety of industrial-strength scanning tools which identify any infections you have and eliminate them safely. Once we have done this we can install anti-virus packages to help immunize your computer from future problems and we can also give you advice on how to minimize the risk of future infections by browsing smarter.

Unfortunately the scanning processes take a long time to complete (often several hours) so we are unable to offer this service in your own home. We will collect your computer from you and fix the problems in our workshop before returning the computer to you. That way we can minimize the cost to you because you won't pay us for a few hours of watching a program scan for viruses!
